Lan-Oak Park District Reopens Skate Park!

25 October 2011 2 Comments
The Lansing Skate Park located at Bock Park was reopened Sunday October 9. The Park was filled with several dozen youths with bikes and skateboards. Resident T.J. Grossi and several friends volunteered their time to install new Skate-Lite Pro, a surface used to cover skate park structures. Grossi, a skater himself, is involved in a Skate ministry associated with Living Word Church. Grossi said "Its important that these kids have a place to meet and can avoid wandering." Park Director John Wilson and park officials served Hotdogs and treats to those in attendance. Wilson said the District spent about $8,000 for the supplies necessary to bring the skatepark back to usable condition and that next spring the Lan-Oak Park District was planning to reseal the ground surface as well. The Skate Park was originally opened in 2001.

I find it to be funny that they can spend $8,000 on a skate park, but the rest of the Gus Bock Park looks a mess it is a eye sore to the community and in my opinion they should close this park down. The Basketball court is a pure mess so why cant they do something with that the whole park in general. This is the worst looking park in the Lansing Community.
